i’m so envious!
i am one of those weird people who loves school.
• new books to read
• school supply shopping
• pouring over the syllabus
• packing brown bag lunches
• notebooks to fill with brilliant (ha) notes
• freshly sharpened pencils
• making lists with bullets
although it came a little early this year, it’s one of my favorite moments of the year. there is something in the air! our youth group, one at a time, has been gearing up for going back, so it’s been a topic of discussion. new schools, going into high school, going into junior high, it’s all so exciting!
i think my favorite of it all was returning to school in my jr and sr years of college. so immersed in the things i’d been waiting to study for years, with all the people that felt the same way as me. no more people who were taking required lit classes (no offense)! i love all the friends i made in those years (i keep trying to convince more of them to blog—jillian. this means you). and i love the memories that flood my mind when this time of year comes back around..
anyways. that is my ode to the back to school season. and to everybody i know that is going back..
